I am a Lecturer for the Institute of Education.

Teaching responsibilities

I currently teach on the International Postgraduate Certificate of Education (iPGCE).

I have led on the professional development of teaching staff in the Further Education (FE) and Skills sector.

I am an English teacher, delivering English qualifications in post-16 settings.

Professional interests

In addition to my work at the University of Derby, I am an English GCSE teacher in the FE and Skills sector. I have worked as a Teaching and Learning Quality Lead and as an Advanced Practitioner in the FE sector.

I hold a Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status (QTLS) and Advanced Teacher Status (ATS)/Chartered Teacher Status (CTeach).

Research interests

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Education with a focus on teacher professional development.

Membership of professional bodies

I am a member of the Society for Education and Training. I hold Chartered Teacher status.
