About

I am a Lecturer in International Education. I work within the Insitute of Education in the College of Arts, Humanities and Education at the University supporting international educators develop their pedagogy and practice at the postgraduate level.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach on the International Postgraduate Certificate of Education (iPGCE) and the International Postgraduate Certificate of Education (with International Qualified Teacher Status (iQTS).

Professional interests

I am interested in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Global Citizenship Education, 21st Century Skills, diversity and inclusion.

Research interests

My research interests include race and equity, teacher CPD and international education.

Qualifications

Experience in industry

I have worked in public and private education both in the UK and internationally as a primary teacher, consultant and advisor for over 20 years in teacher CPD, school improvement, strategy and policy development and PPP projects.

International experience

I have worked in the UAE for 14 years in a range of roles including teaching in international schools as well as working as an advisor, teacher trainer, project manager, program manager and consultant with organisations that include CfBT, Nord Anglia and Repton Dubai and ADEK. I have also worked on Erasmus+ projects with partners in Turkey, Slovenia, Germany and Estonia.

Additional interests and activities

I am involved in the Formula One in Schools program as a judge for over 7 years.
