Teaching responsibilities

I am the programme leader for the BA (Hons) Illustration course, teaching across all year groups as well as on MDes and MA courses in Visual Communication.

Professional interests

I practice as a freelance Illustrator and have been commissioned in Editorial, Advertising and Design, developing advertising campaigns in collaboration with Art Directors, Copywriters and Designers.

Research interests

My research explores characterisation, storytelling and visual narratives. As a practising freelance illustrator, my work is underpinned by my professional experiences. The influences on my work come from real life observations, through media, overheard conversations and my own curiosities with people, dialogue and humour.  The artwork is created using a variety of media drawing, printmaking, and digital media but it all stems from my sketchbooks that I obsessively carry around with on a day-to-day basis.
