About

I am a pharmacist and biomedical scientist, with a research focus on the application of NMR spectroscopy-based metabolomics to cell systems related to brain disorders.

Teaching responsibilities

I am currently the module lead for Clinical Genetics (for human biology, forensic and biomedical science students) and Applied Professional Practice (for zoology, sports science and forensic science students on industrial placement). I also teach specific sessions in various forensic and biomedical science modules, including research methods, forensic anthropology, bioinformatics, etc.

Professional interests

I love everything metabolomics - capturing the metabolic content and dynamics of any biological system. It is complex, just as life itself.

Research interests

My current research work concentrates on the interaction between brain tumour cells and cells impacting on the tumour - aiming to identify how the metabolites in the tumour microenvironment support tumour growth.
