About

I am a Senior Lecturer in Journalism, football reporter and FA coach mentor.

Teaching responsibilities

20 hours facetime a week with Level 4 and 5 Football Journalism undergraduate classes and personal academic tutorials.

Professional interests

Reporting on football, maintaining traditional journalistic standards in the digital age, youth and women's football, supporting women in football journalism, coaching.

Research interests

Supporting women in football journalism.

Recent conferences

Co-presented with undergraduate student the study of sports media (re)presentation(s) of sportswomen and femininity symposium, held at Northumbria University on 12 October 2018.

Experience in industry

28 years in football journalism, including 13 as The Times' Midlands / Women's football correspondent, BBC, Press Association, freelance with Guardian, Daily Mail, Premier League, FA etc. FA coach mentor, Level 3 FA coach.

International experience

Covered 17 football tournaments.
