About

I teach across a range of modules on the PG, BEd with QTS and MEdu with QTS Primary Education Programmes.

Teaching responsibilities

I lead and teach on a wide variety of curriculum and school placement focussed modules. 

Research interests

My research and publications include book chapters inspired by my voluntary work abroad. These chapters were on resilience in street children in Tanzania and the education of children and young people in India, motivated by working with children in a school in the slums in Bangalore.

Qualifications

Experience in industry

I have taught in three schools in three Local Authorities and my principal areas of responsibility were in Physical Education, PSHE and pastoral leadership, including being a member of the School Leadership Team. I have been an Education Consultant across the South West region and was a Teacher Learning Academy Adviser for the General Teaching Council for England, which focused on continuing professional development and school improvement initiatives across the country. I have worked in three universities on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

International experience

I have experience of teaching in India and Tanzania in schools and orphanages while doing voluntary work.
