About

I worked as a news reporter and news editor at ITV and Sky television before working abroad in New York. I was then a sports reporter for the Daily Mail and Daily Express before moving into academia.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach the BA (Hons) Specialist Sports Journalism degree course which is centred around both print and online journalism. The modules are in general sports reporting and the reporting of live events.

Professional interests

I am interested in how the world of sports reporting has altered due to the rise of social media and my specialist subjects are boxing, football, rugby and golf.

Research interests

My research interests are the way in which sports reporting is taught in higher education and I have produced a body of work assessing the various sports journalism courses in the UK.
