About

I am a senior lecturer for the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing and programme lead for the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship BSc. I am a registered adult nurse and health visitor and have experience working in emergency care and public health settings.

Teaching responsibilities

I am part of the Stage 2 team and support with teaching and assessment for all modules across the programme. In addition to this, I act as a personal academic tutor, supporting my personal students throughout the course and I am involved in teaching clinical skills and simulation as well as lecturing.

Professional interests

My practice interests include public health, especially inequalities in health and social determinants of health. From an academic perspective, I am passionate about widening access to higher education and inclusivity.

Research interests

Supporting students with additional educational needs in higher education, inequalities and social determinants and their impact on learning

Experience in industry

I joined the university in 2019 having worked in emergency care, practice education, resuscitation training and then as a health visitor. 

In the media

The stage 2 team was shortlisted for a Student Nursing Times award in 2021 for Best Student Experience for the adaptations made to the programme during the Covid-19 pandemic.
