I am a Lecturer of Adult Nursing in the Stage 1 undergraduate team. I have been part of the University of Derby in this role since April 2022. I am also a qualified nurse and have experience in Emergency and General Medicine. I have a background in Education and have a particular interest in Lifelong Learning and how it is used in the Nursing Field.

Teaching responsibilities

I am responsible for teaching the Stage 1 students on the BSc Adult Nursing programme. This also includes apprentices and direct entry students. I have a particular interest in teaching clinical skills, placement support, and anatomy and physiology.

Research interests

My research interests are based around the student experience and how we can enhance teaching and delivery methods to further develop student education. One of my more specific areas of interest includes how we can use different types of media platforms to engage and enhance student education and fulfillment. 

I am also interested in emotional wellbeing and how patients emotional wellbeing can be improved through person centred care in the community.
