About

I am a HCPC Registered and BPS Chartered Forensic Psychologist.

Teaching responsibilities

I am an Associate Lecturer in Forensic Psychology on the Postgraduate Diploma in Forensic Psychology Practice. Within this role, I am an academic supervisor and module lead for:

Professional interests

My professional interests include evolutionary psychology in forensic settings, in particular understanding offending behaviour through the lens of 'survival' and 'safety strategies'; Compassion Focused Therapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema Therapy.

Research interests

My research interests compliment the professional interests, and extend to understanding more about how we can support staff working in forensic settings.

Experience in industry

I am also employed as a Senior Forensic Psychologist for HM Prison and Probation Service in the Midlands Psychology Services. I have 17 years of experience working in prisons and the community across a variety of roles. My current role is the Clinical Lead Psychologist for the Enhanced Support Service in an East Midlands prison. This service provides assessment and support to those in crisis and/or struggling to engage with the prison regime, actively self-harming or engaging in violence to others.

I am also employed by the British Psychological Society as an assessor for the Qualification in Forensic Psychology.

I have experience in delivering lectures on intimate sexual partner violence and stalking behaviours to both undergraduate and MSc students.
