I am a lecturer in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation. I contribute to teaching and curricular development within the department. I participate in the continuing review and development of module and programme delivery, incorporating innovative study methods and practices to stimulate students, deliver effective learning outcomes and develop the skills and attributes of our Sports Therapy students.

As an enthusiastic sports therapist practitioner myself, I am also responsible for the student led sports injury clinic which provides sports therapy services to students and staff on campus.

Teaching responsibilities

I lead and teach on the Introduction to Therapeutic Principles module on the Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation programme. This module provides students with a valuable foundation in assessment and treatment of injuries. In addition to this I lead and teach on the manual therapy module which specifically teaches students how to mobilise the joints of the body as a treatment modality.

I also lead and teach on the Clinical Placement module, which allows final year students to contextualise and develop the skills and qualities needed to enter the sports therapy profession.

Research interests

I am interested in all aspcts of sports therapy, especially around the topics of psychological impact of injury and patient adherence to rehabilitation. I also have an interest in innovative and creative learning, teaching and assessment.
