About

I am the MBA Director at the University of Derby, with overall responsibility for the portfolio of MBA programmes offered, on campus, online and overseas.

I am also a Senior Lecturer in International Strategy Management and Risk and Business Continuity Management.

I currently hold programme leadership for the full-time and part-time MBA Global offered on campus at Derby International Business School.

Additionally, I am an External Examiner at the University of Bedfordshire and previously was the Chief External Examiner at Coventry University and External Examiner at the University of Hertfordshire.

Teaching responsibilities

I lead and teach postgraduate modules in Strategy, Finance and Business Transformation, Risk Management in a Global Context, Risk and Governance,  and Social Impact Projects, alongside Supervising postgraduate dissertations.

Additionally, I work and deliver workshops with a range of Corporate client organisations both within the UK and overseas.

Research interests

My research interests are in the areas of strategy development and implementation, strategic transformation, business resilience as well as cultural, psychological and organisational determinants of risk management, crisis management and business continuity. More recently I am engaging in practical applications of Generative AI in curriculum development.

Experience in industry

Prior to entering higher education, I gained nearly a decade of professional experience working in both the banking and energy sectors.

International experience

I have taught throughout the world for more than 20 years and hold visiting lecturer positions at universities and higher education institutions in Germany, India, Vietnam, China and Botswana.
