About

I am Programme Leader for the suite of Post-14 Initial Teacher Education programmes. This role involves me overseeing the progress of trainee teachers who study the programme at the university and those studying validated programmes at our partner colleges. 

 

I also teach and assess on the Post-14 PGCE programme, ensuring that trainees are not only benefiting from the theoretical input but also the modelling of effective teaching practice. 

 

As a Sport and PE specialist, I lead the specialist Sport Pathway on the PGCE Post-14 and am link tutor for PE trainees on the Secondary School Direct programme. 

 

Teaching responsibilities

I teach and assess across a range of modules on the Post-14 ITE programmes, most notably the 'Effective Teaching of Sport' and 'Evidence Based Practice' modules.

Professional interests

I am a Trustee of the Education and Training Foundation and Chair of the Society for Education and Training, the largest professional membership body for the post-14 sector. 

Research interests

I am a PhD candidate in Education and have an interest in 'generic, transferable skills' in the Further Education sector.
