About

I am a senior lecturer in the Derby Law School with responsibility for leading modules on European Union law, European Union Trade Law and Land Law.

I am also the year tutor for those students in their second year of study, implementing strategies that ensure that students get the most out of their learning experience here.

Prior to undergraduate teaching, I taught on the Legal Practice Course where I taught a variety of business-related subjects including commercial litigation, insolvency and intellectual property. I also have experience in teaching taxation and business accounts.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach European Union law and European Union Trade law. The modules examine how European Union Law takes effect within the English legal system and how the fundamental principles of free movement have developed and continue to develop.

I also teach the Land Law module, looking at the extent to which rights in and over land become enforceable.

Research interests

I am interested in teaching & learning strategies in the provision of legal education, particularly with regard to preparing students for professional working life after graduation.

I also continue my research interests in the development of European Union law.
