About

I am a lecturer in psychology. My specific research interests are gender and sexualities. With a specific focus on power relations and sexuality. The research is multidisciplinary (Psychology and Media) and considers how gender and power are represented by the media, and speaks with women about their lived experience of gender and power in relation to power play within BDSM.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach online and on campus, with a focus on social psychology, and qualitative methods. I support some project students in the College of Health, Psychology, and Social Care.

Research interests

I am interested in all aspects of gender and sexuality, but focus on women who participate in BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Submission and Dominance, and Sadomasochism), the way that they are represented by the media, and the impact this has on British law.

Membership of professional bodies

Qualifications

International experience

I have been the programme lead for the undergraduate psychology programme at the Mediterranean College in Athens and Thessaloniki.
