Dr Ahmad Kharaz is a reader in intelligent instrumentation. Dr Kharaz has extensive experience over many years of undertaking precision measurements, in a wide variety of contexts. He had many years of industrial experience in instrumentation and control and worked on several successful EPSRC funded projects.

Ahmad is actively engaged in industry and research and has strong links with NPL. He has authored high quality publications in reputable international journals and conferences. He has been successful in attracting external funding.

His current research projects include low power embedded systems, advanced testing and condition monitoring of electric multiple unit trains, wireless cooperative relay networks, power quality, electrical power protection using optical fibres, intelligent optical fibre distributed pressure sensor and distributed optical fibre humidity sensor.
