The course is made up of 4 units, each will require approximately 5 hours of study.

The course is designed to gradually develop your knowledge about social pedagogy, from discovering what social pedagogy is in the first unit, to being confident enough to apply your knowledge to practice situations by the end of the course.

In this unit we will investigate a range of social pedagogical models and review how they can be used and applied in practice.

In this unit we will examine different reflective frameworks that can be used to enhance your practice.

In this unit we will be applying social pedagogical approaches and research to real-life situations.

She has worked at the University of Derby since 1999 and is presently Academic Lead of Social Work/Social Care at the University of Derby Online Learning Department. She has published in the British Journal of Social Work and delivers resilience training for Derby Social Services.
