Unit summary

This unit introduced you to language development in children. We started by discussing the concept of language and its key features as a communication system. We then examined the different structural components of language and the stages of language acquisition in typically developing children. In the final part of the unit, we considered theoretical explanations of language development before applying language to the criminal justice system.
