Top student accommodation award scooped by Derby for second year running

The University of Derby has once again scooped the flagship title of Best University Housing and has also won Best Environmental Management (UK and Ireland) at the coveted 2023 Global Student Living Awards.

This is the second year running that the University has secured the top accolade at the awards, which are based exclusively on direct feedback from over 65,000 students at universities and colleges across the UK and Europe.

Commenting on the success, Steve Ward, Head of Accommodation Services at the University of Derby, said:

“We are delighted to once again be named as the Best University Housing provider in the UK and Ireland and to be awarded for our environmental management. Our teams work tirelessly to provide an exceptional student experience in our halls, and it is pleasing to see that this is recognised by our students.

“These results are based entirely on student satisfaction. To be recognised as the number one university accommodation provider and the only Platinum Certified University Operator in the country demonstrates that we continue to provide sector-leading accommodation services.”   

As well as winning two awards, the University was also shortlisted for Best Customer Service, Best Student Wellbeing, and Best Moving In Experience.

To further enhance its status as a leading university accommodation provider, the University of Derby is also the only Platinum Certified University Operator in the UK and Ireland.

With no written nominations and no ‘expert’ judges, the Global Student Living Awards are uniquely credible and highly prized. Data for the awards are collected through the Global Student Living Index (UK & Ireland and Europe).
