Businesses invited to University’s work experience launch

11 July 2017

Businesses are invited to the launch of the University of Derby Work Experience Programme on Thursday July 20 from 8am – 10am, to find out how they can benefit from the student and graduate talent at the University.

At the event, hosted at the Kedleston Road Campus, academics and degree programme teams will be on hand to showcase some of the existing business partnerships that have already been a success and discuss how local organisations can benefit from the skills and attributes at their disposal.

The University, which was recently awarded Gold by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) for teaching excellence, is committed to delivering a real world learning experience. Each degree programme must have 30 hours integrated work experience at Level 5 as part of its Learning and Teaching Strategy.

Speaking about the event, Amber Woodfull, Employer and Community Engagement Manager at the University, said: “Work experience can take many forms, from short experiences in the workplace to setting projects and live briefs for groups of students.

“We are very excited to invite local businesses and organisations to come to the University and find out how we can provide them with the skills they need for their business, and also give our students the work experience they require for work readiness.”
