About the role

Based at our Kedleston Road campus, you will be part of the Sport and Exercise Science Technical Team providing technical support for the Sport Therapy programme and also for the wider Sport and Exercise Science Discipline (where required). 

You’ll be responsible for the management and upkeep of the Sport Therapy rooms and equipment as well as providing technical support for practical classes, Independent Studies and Sport Therapy clinics. You will have a demonstrable ability to apply experience, knowledge and skills to a Sport Therapy environment and have knowledge and experience of Sport Therapy equipment.

Principal accountabilities

  1. Provide Technical support for practical classes and research in Sport and Exercise Science.
  2. Help maintain the efficient operation and orderly appearance of the Discipline work areas, in particular The Sport Therapy rooms and associated resources.
  3. Provide technical support for the Sport Therapy Clinic.
  4. Provide relevant technical assistance for student projects.
  5. Assist with supervision and training of trainee technicians.
  6. Construct and/or install new apparatus and equipment, maintain existing apparatus as appropriate.
  7. Help to maintain material stocks, spares etc. and report deficiencies to the Senior Technician.
  8. Demonstrate in relevant practical classes as required.
  9. Provide technical assistance to other areas of the College as required by the Technical Team Leader or Technical Manager.
  10. Undertake appropriate technician development programmes.
  11. Ensure local compliance with all relevant Health and Safety regulations and policies.
