About

I am technical Instructor for Education and a Forest School Practitioner. My role includes working across all areas of Education. I create opportunities to help enhance student experience including forest school sessions and outdoor education.

As a geographer I run fieldwork sessions and extra-curricular sessions in different aspects of Geography such as the creation of bug hotels to enhance biodiversity.

My role also includes the design and creation of resources to help staff teaching activities and the facilitation of resources for teaching sessions.  As a result, I work across the Institute of Education supporting staff as individuals and teams in their teaching roles.

I make links with other areas of the University such as the Digital Design Hub at Markeaton Street, to offer our students the best opportunities available to enhance their learning.

Teaching responsibilities

I deliver geography fieldwork sessions some of which are research informed.  These sessions provide skills to help enhance student experience for those training to be primary school teachers.

I run Forest School sessions to demonstrate the way in which forest school sessions can be used to complement outdoor education.

Research interests

I am currently working towards a PhD. The title of the study is:

A critical evaluation of the effectiveness of Biosphere Reserve (BR) designation with particular reference to the Argan woodland in southern Morocco.
