About

I am a senior lecturer in accounting and finance and a core member of the BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance team. Delivering financial modules aimed at developing knowledgeable managers and accountants. 

Teaching responsibilities

BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance, Financial Statement Analysis accounting for business modules.

Research interests

I am interested in project management and financial control, business decision-making and the use of incentive schemes. Another area of interest to me is the development of learning, teaching and assessment within the accounting subject area.

Experience in industry

Prior to working in accountancy, I worked within more general business roles within the textile and clothing industry. These included management roles within design, purchasing, production, sales and marketing. After qualification as a chartered management accountant, I moved into computer auditing and internal audit within Rolls-Royce plc and moved onto other roles, including financial controller at two business units within the group. More recently company secretary and director of a small business.

International experience

Involved with collaborative provision in various overseas locations.

Additional interests and activities

Committed to assisting students to develop skills as life-long learners. Of particular interest are those students who have not had good academic opportunities earlier in their lives.

Other interests outside of the university include equestrian pursuits - a keen competitor and listed British Dressage judge affiliated to British Dressage.
