As the University follows the principles of the waste hierarchy, we aim to ensure none of our non-hazardous waste goes to landfill - it is recycled or converted into energy.

The University of Derby supports Fairtrade and gained Fairtrade accreditation in 2005. We sell Fairtrade products across our sites and help with awareness raising.

At the University of Derby, we want sustainability to be at the heart of all that we do, including our food and catering provisions.

Our supply chain is the largest part of the University's carbon footprint. We have a duty to ensure we are procuring products and services responsibly.
