Competition terms and conditions

These are the Terms and Conditions for the ’Celebration selfie video’ competition to be entered into a prize draw to win a Freshers wristband run by the University of Derby, starting Thursday 16 August -  Monday 20 August 2018:

  1. In order to submit an entry to this competition, the entrant must be a new University of Derby student beginning their first year with the University in September 2018.
  2. To enter, entrants must tag a video of them celebrating their success at secure their place on their own Twitter or Instagram news feed or stories with #DerbyUni and @derbyuni. The entrants must also be following @DerbyUni on the platform they wish to submit their entry.
  3. The entrant must own the copyright of the video uploaded and must have permissions of anyone featured alongside them in the video that is not themselves.
  4. The entrant may not submit a video that does not feature themselves.
  5. The entrant’s uploaded video must not be longer than 30 seconds.
  6. There is no maximum entries per Instagram or Twitter account. Entrants may enter as many times as they like.
  7. The competition opens at 6am (GMT) on Thursday 16 August 2018 and closes at 9am (GMT) on Monday 20 August 2018.
  8. The prize will be one prize consisting of a Freshers Wristband.
  9. The winner will be selected at random from all of the entries received during the period of 16 August - 20 August 2018. Any entries outside of this time frame will not be accepted.
  10. The winners will be contacted directly by the University via Direct Message on the channel they submitted their entry. 
  11. The winners must be contactable by private message on the given social media channel by the University of Derby to arrange for the prizes to be sent to the winners or collected on campus.
  12. The judge’s decision is final.
  13. Entries from employees, former employees, their families or agencies of the University of Derby will not be entered into the prize draw.
  14. The prize chosen cannot be exchanged for any reason and must not be re-sold.
  15. There is no entry fee or purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  16. Entrant must be able to prove they are a student of the University of Derby.
  17. By taking part in the competition, the entrant must accept and agree to participate in publicity if they are the winner of the competition.
  18. To enter this competition the entrant must be: (a) a UK resident; and (b) 18 years old or over at the time of entry.
  19. The University of Derby is a promoter of the competition.

These are the Terms and Conditions for the ’up to 30 second guilty pleasure song video or image on Twitter or Instagram’ to win Y Not Festival x4 VIP tickets run by the University of Derby, starting 08 June- 30 June 2018:

  1. In order to submit an entry to this competition, the entrant must be a current University of Derby student and tag a video or image depicting their “guilty pleasure” song on their own Twitter or Instagram news feed with #DerbyUni and #ynotfestival. The entrants must also be following @DerbyUni on the platform they wish to submit their entry with.
  2. The entrant must own the copyright of the image or video uploaded and must have permissions of anyone featured alongside them in the image or video that is not themselves.
  3. The entrant may not submit an image or video that does not feature themselves.
  4. The entrant’s uploaded video must not be longer than 30 seconds.
  5. There is no maximum entries per Instagram or Twitter account. Entrants may enter as many times as they like.
  6. The competition opens at 10am (GMT) on Friday 8 June 2018 and closes at 10pm (GMT) on Saturday 30 June 2018.
  7. The prize will be one prize consisting of four VIP Y Not Festival tickets for the event on 27 – 29 July 2018.
  8. The winner will be selected at random from all of the entries received during the period of 8 June – 30 June 2018. The winners will be announced in the week commencing 2 July 2018 via the University of Derby's social media channels. Any entries outside of this time frame will not be accepted.
  9. The winners must be contactable by private message on the given social media channel by the University of Derby to arrange for the prizes to be sent to the winners or collected on campus.
  10. The judge’s decision is final.
  11. Entries from employees, former employees, their families or agencies of the University of Derby will not be entered into the prize draw.

These are the Terms and Conditions for the ‘Instagram story snapshot competition’ to win 4 standard Y Not Festival tickets run by the University of Derby, running 21 June- 29 June 2018:

  1. In order to submit an entry to this competition, the entrant must be a current University of Derby student and the entrants must screen shot a golden ticket from our Instagram story and send it to us on their Instagram Story tagging ‘@derbyuni’ to be entered in the prize draw for 4 standard tickets.
  2. The entrants must also be following @DerbyUni on the platform they wish to submit their entry with.
  3. Entrants may enter as many times as they like.
  4. The competition opens at 2pm (GMT) on Thursday 21 June 2018 and closes at 3pm (GMT) on Friday 29 June 2018. Any entries outside of this time frame will not be accepted.
  5. The prize will be one prize awarded 4 standard Y Not Festival tickets for the event on 27 – 29 July 2018.
  6. The winner will be selected at random from all of the entries received during the period of 21 June – 28 June 2018. The winners will be announced in the week commencing 2 July 2018 via the University of Derby social media channels.
  7. The winners must be contactable by private message on the given social media channel by the University of Derby to arrange for the prizes to be sent to the winners or collected on campus.
  8. The judge’s decision is final.
