Logging in to University systems

Your guides to logging in

These guides will help you to access the systems used in your journey to become a student at the University of Derby, from creating your password to setting up your Library account.

When

You'll be sent an email with instructions on how to set up your password when it's time to set up your account. The email will be sent from noreply_passwordcreation@derby.ac.uk. The subject line will be: "It's time to set up your University of Derby password".

The email will be sent to the email address you supplied when you applied to us (via UCAS or through our direct application form). These emails are sent when students are ready to start their study with us. This will be in line with your start date.

So, for a September start, you will receive your information in August. If you are starting in January or March, it will be closer to when you start your studies. If you're still in the application stage, you won't receive this until you've met all your offer conditions and are ready to start with us.

How

Use a laptop or PC

Before you start setting up your password, we would advise you to use a laptop or a PC as you may need to switch browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Safari).

Always use a private browser window to set up your password. This is because, if your personal email address is a Microsoft account, or you already have a O365 log in through your employment, the browser may sign you in to that account rather than your University account.

If you still prefer to use your phone, you will need to delete the website data stored on the browser.

Please read the information provided in the email and click on the Start button in the email to open the Password Creation Centre screens.

Missing email?

If you believe you should have received this email and can't find it in your inbox, please check your junk/SPAM folder before raising this with us.

If you need to contact your support team about a missing email for password set-up, please use the contact details for your pathway:
