Course description

A profession with limitless potential

Efficient supply chain operations are increasingly vital to the growth of the economy. As a result, there’s a growing demand for well qualified, high-calibre managers who can keep the wheels of business turning.

This top-up degree is designed for a new generation of logistics and supply chain professionals who can boost their organisation’s competitiveness. It will develop your skills in managing complex supply chains and delivering innovative business solutions.

Flexibility to suit your needs

Building on your existing business knowledge and skills, the course prepares you specifically for a career in the fast-paced global logistics industry. Offered as a full-time or part-time route, it is ideal for students who have completed qualifications such as HNDs or Foundation Degrees and for Business students keen to specialise in the final year of their degree.

It is also suitable for professionals already working in the sector who are seeking a formal qualification: those with significant work experience may be eligible for accreditation of prior learning.

An inspirational learning experience

Influential partnerships with employers enrich this course. What you learn will always be relevant, meaningful and up-to-date. You’ll be challenged academically but you’ll also experience the practicalities of the business.

We’ll ensure your transition from classroom to employment is not a huge step. You’ll use live case studies, explore real-world scenarios and act as a business consultant on company projects. You’ll gain fascinating insights during site visits and you’ll hear from senior industry practitioners on the day-to-day challenges they face.

As Derby is a Midlands hub for road, rail and air logistics, we are ideally placed to keep you in touch with latest trends. Our industrial partners include leading names such as DHL, JCB, Nelsons, Norbert Dentressangle, Superdry and Clipper. Our contacts book includes supply chain professionals from major corporates such as Rolls-Royce and CEVA Logistics.
