Join one of our Games courses and join Games@Derby – an interdisciplinary games development community, bringing together students and staff from Game Art, Game Design and Game Programming. It provides a shared identity and collaborative working through studio-based learning, multidisciplinary projects, industry engagement and co-curricular activities that are coordinated and embedded within the courses.

Career opportunities

Develop skills and knowledge in demand across a wide range of industries and be at the forefront of the exciting and fast-evolving games scene. You will be prepared to work as part of a larger AAA company or with a smaller indie group.

Game Art graduates can go on to roles such as environment, prop or character artist, animator or technical artist.

If you graduate from our Game Design degree, you could go into roles such as gameplay designer, level designer, narrative designer, technical designer or producer.

As a Games Programming graduate, you could be ready for roles such as gameplay programmer, engine programmer, tools programmer, graphics programmer or technical roles in simulation, XR and real-time technologies.
