Welcome activities

Find out about the exciting activities you can get involved with as we welcome you to the University of Derby.

Multi-Faith Centre

If you’re based at the Derby campus, don’t forget that the Multi-Faith Centre offers quiet spaces for students, so please feel free to use the ‘Social Space’ room, where students can come and sit and chat and have some time away from busy spaces. The Centre is open from Monday to Friday from 08:30 – 19:00, and chaplains are available if it would help to talk to someone.

The Union of Students

The Union of Students have some amazing events during September and October to kick off Freshers’ Fortnight! From a wild roaring welcome party to an outdoor cinema, there’ll be something for you! Take a peek at what’s on offer. You can also grab a wristband, which instantly gives you the equivalent of £60 worth of entry fees over Freshers’ Fortnight.

Living in Halls

Living in Halls has its benefits. Each hall holds its own events for its residents. With events running throughout the year there is always something for you to do and something for everyone. As well as the excellent range of events, all of our halls have their very own common room containing a pool table, PlayStation 4, TV and lots of board games to keep you and your new flat mates entertained during your time living in halls.
