Getting more support

Please take a look at these external resources and organisations that you can reach out to for support.

University and external support is available to anyone affected. This includes someone reporting an incident of harassment or sexual misconduct, the reporting party, or someone who has been alleged to have committed an act of harassment or sexual misconduct, the reported party. It also doesn't matter where or when this has happened, or who else is affected, support is available through the University.

The information below offers some external support organisations that can help if you have experienced harassment and/or sexual misconduct. It is not an exhaustive list, but may help you begin your search for the right support.

Make yourself heard

If you need urgent police help but are unable to speak, you can:

  1. Dial 999
  2. Listen to the questions from the 999 operator
  3. Respond by coughing or tapping the handset if you can
  4. If prompted, press 55. This lets the 999 call operator know it's a genuine emergency and you'll be put through to the police.

In an emergency, if you call 999 and are unable to speak freely, press 55 in order to let the Police know you need urgent help.
