Not eligible for Disabled Students allowance (DSA)?

The best way to find out if you're eligible for Disabled students Allowance (DSA) is to contact DSA directly. You may not be eligible if your course is funded through your employer, you're an international student or if your residency status is overseas. There is still support available:

Funded through your employer

You can apply for Access to work . Access to Work is a government-funded scheme that provides practical and financial support to help disabled people or those with health conditions start or stay in work. For Higher Education (HE) students who are employed and funded through their employer—such as those on degree apprenticeships or work-based learning routes—Access to Work can cover the cost of adjustments and support. This may include specialist equipment and travel costs.

We recommend getting in touch with a Disability Advisor (disabilityteam@derby.ac.uk) to discuss your individual circumstances and explore what academic-related support options might be available to you.

International students and students whose residency is overseas
