Scholarships,
bursaries and
discounts for
international students

Here you can find details of the scholarships, bursaries and discounts available to international students which can be used together to reduce your tuition fees.

Scholarships and discounts

We have a range of scholarships, bursaries and discounts available to international students. You will need to apply separately for the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship and the International Excellent Student Scholarship, but all others are assessed for eligibility alongside your application. The £2,000 Postgraduate (PGT) Scholarship is awarded automatically to most (non-EU) overseas applicants, subject to eligibility.

Our new EU Transition Bursary worth £4,500 offers financial support to our European students. If you normally reside in the EU and are starting your undergraduate or postgraduate taught course in September 2021 or January 2022, you could be eligible for this reduction in your tuition fees. If you have home fee status or have EU settled or pre-settled status in the UK, you are not eligible for international scholarships but you may be eligible for the Derby Achievement Scholarship

You must be applying for a full-time degree. Applications for postgraduate research, online studies, foundation and pre-sessional language programmes are not eligible for a discount or scholarship.
