I was appointed to the role of 'Lecturer in Law' here at the University of Derby in November 2013.  Prior to that I worked as a lecturer at the University of Salford for 9 and a half years. I was promoted to the position of Senior Lecturer in Law in 2016.

Teaching responsibilities

I am also the module leader for a module run by the Business school, namely Law for Accounting (Semester 2).

Research interests

My research interests lie predominantly in the field of medical law; specifically assisted suicide/euthanasia, consent, and clinical negligence.  I am also interested in pedadgogical research with a specific interest in looking at issues related to assessment and feedback.

Experience in industry

I had originally intended to pursue a career as a solicitor. With that in mind I enrolled on the LPC with the College of Law, Chester. I completed the course in July 2004 earning a (Commendation). As I was looking for a training contract I was offered my first post in academia, and I have never looked back.
