About

I am currently working on ERDF funded R&D projects to support SMEs in Derby and Nottingham (D2N2 Network).

Research interests

PhD Research: My research (funded by UTC Aerospace Systems, UK) focused on the dominant mechanical factors that affect the vibration and damping characteristics of Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) rate sensors. The aim was to predict and better understand the influence of thermoelastic damping and support loss on the sensor performance. The research work involved the development of analytical and computational models for analysing these damping mechanisms, and design validation based on experimental modal analysis.

I have also worked on a UTC Aerospace funded project to minimise the geometric non-linearity effects in support legs due to amplitude of motion using non-linear FEA.

Areas of interest: MEMS Gyros, Mechanical Vibration, Mechanical Design, Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics
