About

I am a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education in the College of Arts, Humanities and Education for the BEd and MEdu in Primary Education with QTS, and Lead Admissions Tutor for the undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education programmes. I am also a personal professional academic tutor for students across the undergraduate programmes.

Teaching responsibilities

As part of my wider roles and responsibilities as Senior Lecturer, I teach across several modules in the programmes, including Global Education, Professional Practice and Foundation Subjects (art and music), and supervise a range of Independent Studies. In particular, I lead and teach the Keeping Safe module which helps the students to develop their understanding and critical awareness of the issues which underpin current safeguarding practices, both for themselves as practitioners and the children in their schools. I also undertake school visits to assess practical teaching on both undergraduate and postgraduate teacher training courses.

As the lead ITE admissions Tutor, I oversee and organise the admissions process for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for Primary Education with QTS.

Membership of professional bodies

Fellow of Higher Education Academy
