Teaching responsibilities

I teach the first year Applied Mathematics modules on the BEng (Hons) Motorsport, Motorcycle and Mechanical Engineering programmes. I also teach Power Train Engineering at both second and third year, and Internal Combustion Thermodynamics on the Masters programme.

I spent 8 years servicing and repairing road and race motorcycles for a Honda main dealer before taking up a teaching post in Automobile Engineering at Derby College where I was Curriculum Manager for Motorcycle Engineering programmes. I taught there for 15 years before coming to the University in October 2002, first as a lecturer in Motorsport, and then Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer in Automotive Engineering.

I am currently a member of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers, the Society of Operations Engineers and the Institute of the Motor Industry.

Qualifications

I have a MSc in Engineering, with a BSc in Applied Mathematics as well as a HNC in Automotive engineering

Additional interests and activities
