I am a lecturer on the Occupational Therapy programmes at the University of Derby, within the College of Health and Social Care and the Department of Therapeutic Practice.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach on various modules across the BSc, MSc (pre-registration) and MSc Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapy courses.

Professional interests

I am interested in most aspects of Occupational Therapy practice in mental health settings, but specifically work focussed around Recovery Education.

Research interests

I am interested in research concerning occupational therapy and recovery in mental health, and in the use of simulation within occupation therapy education.

I am:

Experience in industry

I have previously worked within both the NHS and private sector, as an Occupational Therapist specialising in psychiatric rehabilitation. Working in both community and in-patient settings, I have an interest in Recovery Education and how Recovery orientated interventions fit within Occupational Therapy practice.
