Dr Ruth Ayres has been at the University since 2010, and became Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching, Learning & Academic Governance) in September 2017, having previously held the position of Dean of Learning Enhancement, during which time she was responsible for leading learning and teaching, technology-enhanced learning, quality assurance & enhancement and library & learner support across the University. 

Professional interests

Qualified as a Biologist, Ruth was an academic in Environmental Sciences for a number of years, before opting to progress a career in Academic Practice.  Ruth has held senior, strategic posts in Academic Practice at the Universities of Warwick and Salford, where she led a number of transformational change projects designed to enhance and innovate learning and teaching and the student experience.
