• I develop and deliver interesting, innovative, and interactive sessions for stage 1 nurses covering a range of practical and theoretical elements to inspire the next generation of nurses
• I offer support and guidance as a personal academic tutor to students throughout their three years as a student nurse

Experience in industry

• Nursing for 38 years
• A large percentage of this time was spent nursing children in wards and in emergency departments
• Working as an autonomous practitioner in both adult and children’s emergency departments and also in pre-hospital care environments
• Moved into an educational role in 2004. Initially within a minor injuries unit before moving into pre-hospital care and working for a local ambulance trust
• Leading and managing teams in a variety of settings
• Now semi-retired, working part-time at the university and also within the clinical practice to maintain knowledge and skills
