Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging: Medical Ultrasound

College of Health, Psychology and Social Care

I currently teach across the MSc Medical Ultrasound Programme and BSc Diagnostic Radiography Programme. I am the lead for both the Obstetrics and Early Pregnancy Ultrasound modules and have further interest and experience in General Medical and Gynaecology Ultrasound. I practice clinically as a sonographer within the region.

Teaching responsibilities

I lecture across multiple modules within the Medical Ultrasound Programme, for both full-time and part-time students, including General Medical, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Early Pregnancy, Focussed Practice Modules and Principles of Medical Ultrasound. However, I also teach in small part within the wider Diagnostic Imaging team.

My interests predominantly lie within early pregnancy and obstetric led research.

Professional interests

I have presented my own research at conference level.

Research interests

My main research areas include developing techniques and new pathology within obstetric and early pregnancy imaging. At present my focus is the exploration of subchorionic hemorrhage as a relative predictor of poor pregnancy outcome, with a view to publishing my findings.
