About

My role as lecturer of Information Technology currently includes the teaching of ‘product design’, ‘project management’ and ‘team project’ which focuses on student collaboration on real-life workplace projects (with some involvement from local employers). I am also module leader for our third-year work placement students ensuring that they are supported on their journey and have access to a university link tutor.

Research interests

My main research interests include: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the development of conversational agents and their scripting methodologies. Conversational agents are computer programs that enable natural language communication with a human participant. I am keen to research the application of such agents into educational settings and their impact on teaching and learning. My research also extends into the teaching of computer science education at secondary and primary school level, investigating current approaches to the subject, and innovative ways to deliver the curriculum and engage students.
