With over ten years of experience across academia and industry, I have developed a career that bridges professional practice with academic research. My work spans international project development, curriculum design, and executive education, with a strong focus on empowering students and industry partners through strategic insight, leadership development, and practical applications of digital transformation.

In September 2024, I joined the University of Derby as a Lecturer in Leadership and Strategy, with a focus on Enterprise, at Derby International Business School, where I contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. I also play an active role in the executive education by delivering workshops and programmes for industry partners, particularly in the global aviation and aerospace sector.

My teaching and research are strongly shaped by international collaboration, with a particular focus on the ASEAN region. I have worked extensively on projects related to entrepreneurship, SME strategy, and digital innovation. In addition to my academic background in business, I hold a diploma in gemology, which has enabled me to work with SMEs in the gems and jewellery sector, firms in the precious minerals trade, and creative enterprises. This unique combination of expertise provides a nuanced perspective on strategy, leadership, and entrepreneurial challenges in specialised industries.

Since 2014, I have been actively teaching and researching in the areas of entrepreneurship, SME development, and digital transformation, with a growing focus on sustainability, strategic thinking, and the impact of emerging technologies. I am committed to advancing the field through research, executive education, and international collaboration, ensuring my work continues to connect academic knowledge with the evolving needs of industry.

My professional interests lie at the intersection of strategy, leadership, digital transformation and enterprise development with a particular focus on:

• Entrepreneurship and SME development – Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in scaling, internationalisation, and digital adoption, with emphasis on emerging economies and creative industries.
• Digital transformation and emerging technologies – Investigating the role of AI, automation, and generative technologies in reshaping organisational decision-making, leadership models, and strategic innovation.
• Sustainability and responsible innovation – Analysing how organisations balance profitability with social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and long-term value creation.
• Industry–academia collaboration – Working with global industry partners to co-create solutions that connect academic research with real-world challenges across creative industries, aviation and aerospace, and SME ecosystems.

I conduct and supervise research across various aspects of leadership, strategy, and entrepreneurship, with a particular emphasis on:

• Leadership and strategy – Investigating sustainability, digitalisation, and innovation in global industries, with a focus on leadership development, strategic thinking, the design and application of strategic models, and organisational transformation.
• Entrepreneurship and SME strategy – Exploring growth, resilience, and internationalisation strategies for SMEs, particularly in ASEAN and other emerging markets.
• Digital transformation– Analysing the adoption of AI, generative technologies, behavioural analytics, and digital platforms to strengthen organisational strategy, decision-making, leadership, and business models.
• Creative industries – Examining strategic and entrepreneurial challenges in specialised sectors such as gems and jewellery, where cultural, digital, and market dynamics intersect.
• Executive education and knowledge transfer – Studying the role of executive learning programmes in shaping leadership capability, strategic thinking, and knowledge exchange between academia and industry, with a particular focus on the technology, aviation, and aerospace sectors.

I actively collaborate with industry partners, academic institutions, and policymakers to bridge the gap between theory and practice, ensuring my research and teaching address real-world challenges in leadership, digital transformation, and enterprise development
