About

I am a Commonwealth Scholar and PhD researcher at the University of Derby, where I am pursuing a doctorate in Journalism and Conflict Resolution. My research, titled “Rhetorical Techniques in the Cameroonian Press: The Multilingual Mediation Practices in Conflict Resolution Processes,” explores how language, rhetoric, and media intersect in shaping peace narratives in conflict-affected regions, particularly in multilingual societies like Cameroon.

I hold a Master’s degree in Sociolinguistics and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from the University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon, graduating with distinction. I also earned a Secondary School Teacher Diploma in Modern Letters from the University of Bamenda, where I trained in English literature pedagogy, curriculum development, and classroom management. My academic path has shaped my deep appreciation for language as a tool for transformation, both in education and in peacebuilding.

With over 8 years of experience as an ESL instructor, I’ve taught across various schools in Cameroon, designing inclusive lesson plans and personalised learning strategies that help students thrive. I’m passionate about fostering environments where learners feel empowered and confident in their abilities, regardless of their background or challenges.

In addition to my work in education, I am a committed advocate for youth and women’s empowerment. I founded African Industrious Ladies, a mentorship platform for young women from difficult backgrounds, helping them build self-worth and achieve their goals. I also founded Youth for Peace and Development (YPD), an NGO that promotes peacebuilding, leadership, and community development in Cameroon.

I currently serve as a Senior Program Facilitator with Open Dreams, where I mentor students in leadership, personal development, and scholarship opportunities. My previous role as Communications Director with the "Toghu" Association for Culture enabled me to design campaigns and cultural programs that celebrated and preserved Cameroonian heritage.

I have received certifications in global leadership, public speaking, and instructional technology, and have led workshops, spoken on national radio, and facilitated cross-cultural learning experiences. My work bridges academic research with practical leadership and community engagement.

Now based in Derby, UK, I continue to use my voice, research, and experience to inspire young people and women to become agents of peace, growth, and purposeful development in their communities and beyond.
