About

I am a PhD student at University of Derby. In 2018 I achieved my masters degree (cum laude) in Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Messina (Italy) with the thesis entitled “Graph vulnerability variation under probabilistic node failure”.

My research is at the intersection between Network Science and Deep Learning. My PhD project relates to different application domains that may be addressed through Network Science tools. Among my studies, the most important ones relate to optimisation algorithms for Deep Learning with Network Science strategies, the investigation of criminal networks’ resilience through Data Analysis, and the design of more realistic models to address network connectivity problems.

My findings obtained so far have been presented at international conferences and have appeared in prestigious journals. My work sparked significant interest from scientific International newspapers (such as Eurekalert, Galileonet, Ansa.it, ZMEScience), receiving more than 3000 views in three months.
