Experience in industry

I worked in the travel industry for fifteen years before embarking on a career in teaching. My travel industry experience includes retail, business travel, accounts, tour operations, sales and marketing and event management. Whilst working in the industry I had the opportunity to visit many different countries and this helped to inspire in me a real love for travel and tourism industry.

My academic career started in 2000, teaching in further education and for the last three years here at the University of Derby. I continue to work closely with industry partners and have recently helped organisations to use social media effectively in order to help with their marketing campaigns.

I am currently working on projects in consumer behaviour and visitor experience.
