About

I am a dedicated professional with a deep comprehension of the intricate obstacles faced by minoritized groups and an insurmountable commitment to promoting social justice by fostering a more inclusive society through education.

Throughout my academic career, I have organized and participated in various national and international scientific and cultural events, giving oral presentations, lectures, workshops, mini-courses, and webinars. I have also authored and co-authored papers in journals and proceedings in Brazil and Portugal. At the University of Derby, I am the co-chair of the Decoloniality and Education Staff-Student Group and a member of the Pedagogic and Research Cluster. I am also a collaborator of the Study and Research Group on Languages, Internationalisation and Language Policies (GEPLI/UEFS).

Besides, I am a translator and published poet. My poems have been featured on Revista Cult (BR), BBC Radio Derby (UK), AddVerse (US), Ruído Manifesto (BR), Language & Ecology (UK), and Fazia Poesia (BR). In 2024, I won the 36th Noite da Poesia and the 38th Yoshio Takemoto Literary Prizes for my poetry work, and the 2nd José Jerônimo de Morais Award of Arts, Science, and Humanities for my scientific work. The same year, I was one of the Honoured Writers at the 1st Flicans Literary Festival in Cansanção, Brazil.
