About

I started my career in Orthotics directly from High School when I took up an apprenticeship as an Orthotic Technician with the Greater Glasgow Health Board upon completing my training, I was offered a position at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, UK a position I still hold now on a part-time basis. I have always had an interest in technician training and in 2015 I worked with the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) to design the UK's first national qualification for Prosthetic and Orthotic Technicians. In 2020 I joined the University of Derby in the position of P&O Lecturer to design, author and teach the university’s new P&O apprenticeship qualifications.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach on the Level 3 Prosthetic & Orthotic Technician Apprenticeship and the Level 6 BSC (Hons) Prosthetic & Orthotic Degree Apprenticeship.

I am a member of the ISPO Education Accreditation Committee auditing international P&O schools
