About

Dr. Geleite Xu is a lecturer in law at the University of Derby. He obtained both his LLB (2013) and LLM (2016) degrees from China University of Political Science and Law, and his PhD (2021) from the University of Essex. Before joining Derby Law School in September 2024, Dr. Xu held a postdoctoral position at Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School for three years.

Dr. Xu’s primary research interests lie in insolvency law and financial law, with a particular focus on crisis management and market exit mechanisms for financial institutions, the government’s position in enterprise insolvencies, and micro and small enterprise insolvencies.

Awarded Second Prize (¥50,000) in the 71st Postdoctoral Funding Programme of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, 2022.

As co-investigator, the project “Cross-Border Issues in Banking Law in China” was awarded ¥200,000 by the National Social Science Fund of China in 2022.
