I am a Lecturer in Law and First Year Tutor on the LLB. This means that in addition to teaching, I work with the programme team to ensure our first year students are supported in maximising their academic progression and have a truly engaging and excellent experience whilst studying with us.

I also lead on our employability provision within Derby Law School. Part of this provision involves fostering relationships with the local legal progression to maximise opportunities for our students, coordinating the Legal Mentor Scheme, implementing work placements, and working with the local legal profession to ensure our students achieve maximum employability to prepare them for their future once they graduate.

Teaching responsibilities

I lead and teach on the Legal Context Skills and Ethics module, which provides our students with the fundamentals of the English legal system.

I also lead and teach the modules on Family Law and Domestic Abuse. These provide our students with practical experience, as well as an understanding of how theory informs the creation of law.
