About

My role in Teacher Education gives me the opportunity to work with students wishing to pursue teaching careers in primary schools and also to work alongside staff who are new to university teaching.

I also support the DELTA: Pathfinder scheme through which staff gain different levels of Fellowship with AdvanceHE.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach a range of modules on both undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education programmes. I also visit student teachers on placements.

I also contribute to the Academic Professional Apprenticeship/PGCertHE by working with staff colleagues.

Research interests

I find most aspects of learning and teaching interesting, although I have become particularly interested in assessment and its role in the learning process. I am a strong advocate of authenticity in learning and in recent years I have explored professionally relevant formative and summative assessments with my colleagues in teacher education.
